A unique and fascinating destination in Western Uganda
Semuliki National Park is a unique fascinating destination in Western Uganda just 370km West of Kampala, Uganda’s capital. It is a 220 square kilometer protected area in Bundibugyo District, specifically Bwamba county. The park is part of the Albertine Rift, a region known for its high biodiversity and unique ecosystems.
Geographically, the park’s terrain is characterized by low lying savannah grasslands, tropical forests, wetlands and swamps, and the Semuliki River which flows all around the park. The area experiences two rainy seasons (March to May and September to November) and two dry seasons (June to August and December to February).
It’s advisable to visit Semuliki Park in the dry spell as weather is dry, allowing easy access to corners of the park and enabling more concentrations of the wildlife on the park’s water sources.
