Queen Elizabeth: Home of Wildlife

This is one of the most visited parks in the Pearl of Africa, with a land area of 1978 square kilometers and a diverse range of wildlife ready to be discovered. It is found in Southwestern Uganda near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Queen Elizabeth is a premier wildlife reserve offering diverse activities for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. Visitors to Bwindi for its adventures also find it easy and incredible to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for its thrilling game drives, boat cruises, chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, and lion tracking.

🚗 Getting There

The park is accessible by road or air. By road, it's accessible from Kampala (Uganda’s capital) via Masaka-Mbarara-Bushenyi (about 420km) or Mubende-Fortportal-Kasese (about 410km). By air, scheduled flights from Entebbe to Kasese are always available. Tour operators, like us, can provide all necessary transportation to the park.

📜 A Glimpse into History

The Park was known as Kazinga National Park back in 1952. It was renamed in 1954 to commemorate the visit of Queen Elizabeth II of England.

The Kazinga Channel Highlight

This 32km channel connecting Lake Edward and Lake George is a park highlight, offering a fantastic experience with high concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, and elephants.

Abundant Wildlife Diverse

Home to herds of elephants, gangs of buffalo, Ugandan Kobs, and the famous tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. It's also a birder's paradise with over 58 species.

Other attractions include the vast landscapes of Lake Edward and Lake George, and the unique opportunity to stand on the Equator.
